Nutraceuticals

Nutraceuticals (or natraceuticals) are biologically active substances in the human body that do not fall under the categories of vitamins, minerals, or herbs. They are derived from nature (plant or animal) and can work with vitamins, minerals, or herbs to treat many health conditions and support bodily functions. Other terms such as "phytochemicals" or "phytonutrients" indicate that the nutraceutical is derived from the plant world only (phyto - means plant). Look for potencies to be standardized to ensure consistent action.
